The Naturist Talks: Eva from Tanzania

As you may have read in the very first post of this blog, one of the main reasons why we started this project is to show the world that naturists are not some strange dark commune but that actually everyone could be one… Or could enjoy being one if they took the first step.

Our main example of “everyone” is of course ourselves, we write posts about naturism in general but also about our own experiences. But some of you might be thinking “Yes sure, those two are probably just the strange kids in the block…” (nah, we know you’re not thinking that about us, but we’re trying to write an introduction here). So we decided to let other naturists have a word as well.

So please sit back and get inspired!

Meanwhile we already published several interviews with people from all over the world. You can find them in the The Naturist Talks section.
Today we’ll be listening to Eva, a 28 year young woman who lives in Tanzania.

Hello Eva, tell us something about yourself
My name is Eva and I’m 28 years old. I come from and live in Dar es Salaam, the biggest city in Tanzania. I work at an embassy here. My family lives in another part for Tanzania and doesn’t know about that I’m a nudist.

How and at what age did you become a naturist?
I have always loved to be naked, but it’s not accepted here in Tanzania. So my first experience with it was when I was studying in Oslo, Norway for one year. There my first and best friend was a nudist and she got me into it.

Nudist (348)Is naturism allowed in your country and what’s the public opinion?
It’s certainly not allowed here in Tanzania, you can go to jail or worse if you are naked in public.

We hate to divide people into groups, but we’ll do it anyway…
Do you consider yourself a naturist, a nudist or an occasional nudist?
I think I’m something between naturist and nudist.

Do you find it easy to make naturist friends?
As a nudist female I think it’s easier to get in touch with others… That can be both good and bad…

What’s the best tip you have for beginning naturists?
It’s such a great way to feel accepted and feel good with your body.

Thank you so much for your participation Eva!

  1. I wish Eva all the best.

As for the Tanzanian government’s intolerance of both nudism and homosexuality…. well, let’s just say Tanzania not on high on my list of places to spend time or money.

  2. Naturism once experienced cannot be looked on as being evil or unhealthy.Being brought up as Catholic one is given a set of values by parents that we and society follow. Yet those same values are not for all of us and I experienced going without clothes in Sweden whilst on holiday when I then lived in Britain. Today I live in Queensland, Australia where it’s considered illegal yet naturist clubs exist, to join one can do so as a couple and not single.though married my wife has never shown the slightest interest and one cannot labour the point.

  3. Hi Eva this is Gavin. I’m visiting Kenya right now and am looking for some fun nude spots. Will be going to Zanzibar soon. Any secluded beaches there to get naked? Love to meet up with you.
