The Naturist Talks: Nicole from Canada

As you may have read in the very first post of this blog, one of the main reasons why we started this project is to show the world that naturists are not some strange dark commune but that actually everyone could be one… Or could enjoy being one if they took the first step.

Our main example of “everyone” is of course ourselves, we write posts about naturism in general but also about our own experiences. But some of you might be thinking “Yes sure, those two are probably just the strange kids in the block…” (nah, we know you’re not thinking that about us, but we’re trying to write an introduction here). So we decided to let other naturists have a word as well.

So please sit back and get inspired!

Meanwhile we already published several interviews with people from all over the world. You can find them in the The Naturist Talks section.
Today we’re having Nicole, 48 years young from Canada

Hello Nicole, tell us something about yourself
Hi I’m Nicole from Canada, a 48 divorced mom. I’m a real estate broker and have 2 kids: a son of 17 and daughter of 15.

How and at what age did you become a naturist?
I’ve been in this lifestyle for 8 years now and I love it a lot. My kids also join me in this lifestyle and love it as much as I do. I got into it just before my divorce with friends that were already nudists, my ex did not want to try it but I did and liked it. Soon after my divorce I got my kids into it and they also enjoy it very much. I am so happy for them!

Is naturism allowed in your country and what’s the public opinion?
There are legal naturist places in Canada and we have gone to a few of them. It was nice, there’s no bad atmosphere there, people know about your lifestyle and are open to join you without any judgement.

What do you think is the best and worst thing about naturism?
The best part of naturism is the freedom of just enjoying your natural self and not being judged about your looks or appearance. I love the feeling of it all basically and love being with others that also feel the same way.

Do you find it easy to make naturist friends?
It was easy for me as I had friends that were already in this lifestyle. After a while I made other friends and got other friends into it, even though they were not naturists from the beginning. I love to see them also enjoying it now . We have gone to a resort in the Caribbean and met people from all age groups there and it was nice to be with them and to get to know them. My kids also enjoyed that and it was an all in all nice experience. we still have friends of all age groups that join us.

What’s the best tip you have for beginning naturists?
Just take it one day at a time and go into it with an open mind and do not put too much pressure on yourself and it will go well.

Anything else you’d like to share with our audience?
We met a nice family at one of our trips in the Caribbean, they had kids of similar ages as my kids and it was so nice to meet them and get to know them. We chatted for a long time and they then came to our hotel room and we continued chatting and we started to talk about massages and apparently we all loved them. We started to give each other massages and we were still shy at first as we have not gotten massages from other nudists before. But they were so nice about it and we all enjoyed it, we became good friends during the trip and still are.

Thank you so much for your participation Nicole!

  1. It’s always refreshing to hear of a parent who enjoys being naked getting their children interested as well. These kids so often end up being so much more balanced in their attitudes about life and society. Nude family times are great bonding times as well, either at home or when traveling. The story about being nude in the Caribbean is always nice…again, particularly with the kids. You’ll find that naturism and massage go together like peanut butter and jelly…this coming from a massage therapist who enjoys naturism. Thanks for the interview!
